I didn’t want to send this email, but I have to.
Yesterday, I launched a new version of Cozy, but you wouldn’t have known without this message because I didn’t set up the in-app updater properly.
It was a rookie mistake, and I can’t say that I won’t make it again. I’ve already made it a few times. But I suppose that’s what the beta version is for.
I would like to briefly share what I have updated. First, though, I’d like to thank Blanca and Marynes for their help — most of the changes are based on their feedback, so thank you!
YouTube videos work
You might not have noticed, but if you paste a video URL into Cozy, you should be able to see the embed. In the current version, a 503 error would be displayed, but it should now work properly.

Clicking on a previous day in the calendar creates a new entry for that date
If you forget to write an entry one day, you can go to the calendar view and click on previous days to create an entry for that date.
It’s an easy fix and very useful. As I said, it wasn’t my idea.

When you start a new journal, you will see two clear buttons prompting you to start writing
There’s nothing else to explain.

The ‘Check for updates’ function should now be working
As I mentioned at the beginning, the ‘Check for updates’ function was not working once you had checked. This should now be fixed, and you should be able to see the next releases directly in your app once they are ready.

Windows version?
I’m not sure if any of you are on Windows rather than Mac. I wasn’t planning to release the Windows version yet, but if anyone would like to try it, I’ve been testing it and it works well. If you’re interested in trying it out, send me an email at [email protected] and I’ll send you the installer.
And that’s it for now.
I’ll reach out again if:
- I have made another mistake.
- I have some more news about the beta.
Otherwise, I won’t contact you for a while.
As always, I welcome your feedback and suggestions.
Talk to you soon,
Alberto
