No. You’re buying Cozy 1.0, and every update to it is free, fixes and new features alike. Further down the line there may be a bigger version (Cozy 2.0, then 3.0) as an optional, lower-priced upgrade. If you’re happy with what you have, you never have to upgrade, and your Cozy keeps working.

Into a regular folder you choose, as plain Markdown files you can open with any app. Each entry saves its date, mood, location, and tags alongside your writing, and photos sit right next to your entries. Full details in Where your files live.

Cozy doesn’t run its own sync, but your journal is just a folder. Sync it with iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive and you’re set. See Sync across devices.

A separate app for iPhone and Android is in development, sold on the App Store and Google Play as a one-time $12 purchase. It reads the same journal folder, so it stays in step through your sync service.

No, and there’s no plan to add it. Your entries are regular files on your computer. If you ever want to use an AI tool with them, you can, on your own terms.

Yes. Write in any language, mix several in one entry, and right-to-left scripts like Arabic flow that way on their own. Word count handles Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other scripts that don’t put spaces between words.

That’s expected. On macOS shortcuts use ; on Windows and Linux they use Ctrl. Cozy shows the right keys for your keyboard everywhere.

Cozy saves entries the way iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive expect, so this shouldn’t happen on current versions. If you’re on an older build, update Cozy. It also helps to let one device finish syncing before writing on another.

Use the recover a key link on Cozy’s welcome screen, enter the email you bought with, and your key is sent back to you.
